A Bad Day With A Camera

Thankfulness

We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving a day early. We always seem to do it the day before, I’m not sure why. I also had a float of the Bow River the next day as well, so I guess that was a reason to push things ahead.

My wife and daughter took care of most of the good. I was mainly responsible for the gravy and finishing off the Brussels Sprouts in the oven. We like them done to the point where they are browned but not charred as that is where you get the sweetness and mild flavour.

It was my first Thanksgiving without my friend Ray. I didn’t realize how often we had chatted over Thanksgiving until we no longer could. I felt his loss. He left me with some good memories and his old camera to make new memories with. That’s something.

I also have my wonderful wife and daughter, who are both loved and appreciated even if I suck at saying it when I should. Communication without a camera has never been my strong point. Still, I am thankful for those I got to love and those who I still have in my life to love.

Samsung cell phone snaps as it was a day of rest and reflection.
