Wind. If there has been a constant theme running through 2025 it is the incessant prairie wind that only seems to happen on days that end in Y, if you know what I mean. I fired the drone into the air this evening and immediately got high wind warnings from my software.
I put the DJI Care Refresh package on my drone when I bought it last year, which means that it’s only sort of hella expensive if I crash one. I balanced the cost of a replacement drone under warranty against maintaining my sanity and sent the poor little thing off through the gale and across the park to fetch my late day bucket of pixels for me.
The resulting panoramic is no screaming heck and it’s been nearly two months since I got my last good reflection shot on calm water, but photographers take what they are given. You can vaguely make out a reflection of the sky on the water and it will have to do.
