Some days I roll out the door with a camera or three and plans for what I want to shoot. Then there are the days when I look out a window, go “OH!” and race outside with a camera. Or fire a drone out the front door. Whatever it takes to get the image(s).

I looked out the kitchen window about ten minutes before starting work yesterday morning and there was no wind. I mean no wind at all. I nearly tripped over both cats in my hurry to get a camera out and work the flowering crab apple tree in our backyard. I had wanted to photograph it the night before, but wind. So much wind.
Later that evening I was chillaxing with a cat to try and burn off the bad karma I earned from shooing her out of my way earlier when I happened to glance out the patio window and spot a weather system coming in. I immediately dumped the poor fuzz beast off my lap and got my drone up and running. I could feel her glare of disapproval from inside while I operated the drone outside and got a couple more images to top off the pixel pile at 1.5m and 155m of elevation, respectively.
Not a bad day photographically, at all. I’m pretty pleased with how it went other than my daughter’s cat is now out of sorts with me and plotting revenge for the indignities I visited upon her in my rush to make some art. I know exactly what is coming when she huffs at me like that.
