A Bad Day With A Camera

He thinks my tractor’s sexy

My father-in-law has an old ’65 Massey Ferguson tractor parked on his farm. Dad is in long-term-care these days and struggling to remember who he used to be, so his tractor is more of a lawn ornament now than anything else. It’s sad because this was a valued and well-used piece of equipment back when John was able to use it.

Another person who was fond of this tractor was my friend Ray and I remember him working it over assiduously with his various cameras over the years. That is why I was so surprised when, reviewing his portolio, only a single image of this tractor seemed to make the cut. I don’t even think it’s John’s tractor to be honest, but one he found elsewhere.

Ray used to have a lot more, but he would go through phases where he would get frustrated with social media and delete everything. This included his Flickr page. I’m glad he restored some of it before he passed, but I know there was much more excellent work that is gone now.

I probably have more than enough images of this MFer (as Ray put it) in my portfolio, but pausing and making a few more images of it was okay because it reminded me of shooting out on the farm with Ray and that is always pleasant for me.
