A Bad Day With A Camera

The Reason for the Season

Helios is the reason for the season. The infamous Helios 44m-2 58mm f2.0 lens that has the reversed front lens element, that is. Jesus may have turned water into wine, but this lens turns a simple flower image into whirly, swirly, abstract art. That’s way better than wine, in my opinion. The trees are popping with blossoms, I have my favourite vintage Russian lens out, and life is great again.

I spent an hour after work walking the route between my home and downtown Strathmore and I pointed my lens at every tree I passed. It was a good evening and I am thankful for it..

For those not paying attention (yes, you) I used my Helios 44m-2 58mm f2.0 lens that has the reversed front lens element to make these images. There will be a quiz later so get it together for future blog posts, please.
