A common refrain around here is that, “photographers take what they are given.” That’s pretty easy when it is beautiful fall weather and average or above average temperatures without the usual roaring wind Southern Alberta is prone to.

I managed to go for a lovely walk with my wife on Saturday that turned out to be more challenging than expected because so many hills. We weren’t able to finish the trail, but we got out into the sun, enjoyed some great views, and got to spend time together.
Yesterday saw me doing a solo float on the Bow River from Policeman’s Flats in Foothills County to McKinnon Flats in Rocky View County, Alberta. It went beautifully right up to the end where I, uh, dismounted ungracefully. It was a wonderful trip despite that and just a rather enjoyable weekend. Especially since it ended with a nice sunset capture.
I am grateful for it, even the wet part.

Sunset image courtesy of my DJI Mini 3 photography drone. Posts about the hike and the river run are on the way, I am still processing images from them.
