I threw myself a fine pity party this morning because I missed getting a work break for making some images yesterday. This afternoon I kicked myself in the arse and went out and got the images even if it was cold, windy, and gross.

It only took fifteen minutes so I don’t know how I couldn’t manage to find the time yesterday, except for perhaps a mental block. We’re getting into that season where picking up a camera is just a bit more difficult. The colder it gets the harder it is on my hands and I don’t like dealing with pain in my hands. Arthritis is creeping in with age and it’s just … not fun. Not being a photographer would be worse, so I’ll just have to find a way to get past it like all of my other health challenges.
There was one happy accident today. The auto white balance in my camera kind of pooped the bed for about a third of the frames. The wind was tossing the bush around enough that it caused the camera’s colour sensor to totally misread the scene, and in a way that worked out well for me. Rather serendipitous if I do say so myself.
I started out the day with a good sunrise image and ended it with a bunch more courtesy of my Helio lens, and that’s just the kind of photographically productive day I like having. I’m thankful for it.

Today’s kit: Canon EOS R5 with a Helios 44m-2 58mm f2.0 and attached to the R5 via a Neewer M42 to RF adapter.
