I did take a lunch break at work today despite still being hammered sideways with a backlog, so yay me. I guess it helps that I have surrendered to the fact that I am simply not going to catch up and have stopped caring about it so much. Indifference is a wonderful thing.
I spent forty-five minutes walking around on my lunch break to no avail. I just couldn’t find a photo I liked for love or money. I got home, frustrated, and realized that I hadn’t collected the garbage bin from the back alley. It’s garbage day and I had put the bin out late last night to be emptied by the truck this morning. I was walking past the stairs up to my deck after I replaced the bin when I spotted the leaf sitting in the middle of some slush.
We had a good dump of snow on Tuesday morning and the last of it was melting out back today, exposing this leaf that had fallen on our step. I liked how the light was hitting it so I went back inside for a camera and managed to get an image I was happy with after all.
Having an image in the bag made the afternoon more tolerable, but only by a small bit. I really need to find a different job soon.
