Wildfire smoke is currently blanketing large parts of Canada including the majority of Alberta, my own province. It is so bad that I have been trapped inside since the evening of Tuesday, August 13th when I had a nice outing on Chestermere Lake (I am still working on a post about this).
The Air Quality Health Index (AHQI) for my region has ranged from Unhealthy to High Risk for the last few days so there has been no lake for me. Even getting out for photos is a problem because my breathing gets crapped up quickly. This is frustrating as hell. Last night’s drone shot from above my home shows what we’re dealing with in Strathmore, AB.
I honestly just wish they would stop fighting the fires and let whatever wants to burn this year just burn. This way there will be nothing left to burn next year and we can all go outside, even if there is nothing left to look at. I don’t see the point of having things to look at it if is too unhealthy to go outside and look at them, so I feel my approach is more valid. There is also the fact that the town of High Level might burn and it is not a part of Alberta that has ever been useful or needed.
Fuck this crap, I’m tired of it.
Last night’s image with made with a DJI Mini 3 photography drone that now smells like it was flown over a campfire.
