I spent my lunch break trying to get some more images in with my infrared converted 7D. There was a lot of cloud, so I only managed to get a few shots with bright sunlight, much to my chagrin.
Most of today’s shots were captured in overcast, like the Strath Path walking trail above. I have spent weeks cursing the harsh lighting and when I finally need it, it disappears. I am pretty sure I’m on the crap list of someone upstairs at this point.
The sun popped out long enough for me to get the spire of theMormon church shown above juxtaposed against some trees. I also got the trees and the pathway of the park across the street before I started to lose the light again.
The sun was in hiding for the rest of my shots so I decided to call it quits and cut my lunch break short. I rode my eScooter home, parked it, and got back to work. So much for doing infrared today.
I am starting to get the colours dialed in a bit better and I am playing with basic colour swaps now. My skill level will increase with practice as I capture more infrared photographs. Hopefully the sun will pop out tomorrow and I can get more contrasty images. Fingers crossed.
Professionally modded Canon EOS 7D with the hot mirror filter swapped out for a custom infrared glass filter and a Canon 17-85mm EF-S IS USM f4-5.6 lens used for today’s images.
