Today was a good news, bad news kind of day. The good news is that all of the trees in our back yard have been fruiting out nicely so far. The Mayday Trees are ripe with plump, dark berries, the Mountain Ash has loads of green berries underway, and the ornamental crab apple tree in the back is producing tiny apples fit for birds, if not humans. Which is awesome because there should be food for the birds this coming winter.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that they continue to do well, but the drought is returning with a vengeance. We’re in the middle of a prolonged heat-wave for the next week and the rain has disappeared like someone upstairs turned off a tap. Not good.
The bad news wasn’t bad news so much as a depressing realization. Last week’s vacation is the first I have come back from with a tonne of photos, but have not been able to share and discuss them with my best friend. Being able to review and discuss my work with Ray was a large part of enjoying photos from my trips and now he is gone. The photos that I would normally be processing as fast I can to show him are just sitting there. I am having trouble getting moving on them and I don’t know what to do.
Maybe I’ll be more motivated next week. The photos are backed up and will be waiting for me.
Yet another mobile phone image from my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. It’s what I had energy for. Sorry.
