We made a quick stop at Lac des Arcs along the TransCanada Highway on our way into the mountains. This was a bittersweet moment for me as I captured yet another panorama of the lake.

The last time I took a photograph from this spot I was visiting Canmore with my friend Ray. His cancer diagnosis was relatively recent back then and he was suffering depression because of it. I treated him to a stay at an Airbnb to try and cheer him up. It was a bitterly cold trip and we spent more time inside than out. It was the last time we were together when he was still fairly healthy, other than an ongoing battle with some prostate issues. Every visit after this one, he had declined and while we both kept trying to put a good spin on things, we knew where it was headed.
It was nice to stop for a moment and revisit my last memories of my best friend in relatively good health.

Image captured using my Samsung Galax S23 Ultra. It is 12 overlapping images stitched into a panorama in Photoshop.
