A Bad Day With A Camera

Goodbye to Uncle Roy

I have to acknowledge the loss of another photographer who was important in my life. Roy Carlson, my wife’s uncle (brother of her Aunt Marion), passed on the afternoon of Monday, March 4th, 2024, at the age of 94. (Obituary link.)

Roy Carlson

His name should be familiar to the readers of this blog as he gifted me a number of the cameras that I have used and will use to post here.

Uncle Roy’s old Fujifilm Finepix XP-20.

Roy was an amazing man and a dedicated photographer. He was another of those who explored the world through the viewfinder of his camera. I respected him greatly and will have more to say later.

I hope you’re back to using a camera wherever you are now, Uncle Roy. I’ll miss you.
