A Bad Day With A Camera

A Berry Happy Accident

My truck does not get very good mileage, and that’s a fact. I’m careful to leave it parked when running errands in town and try to do as much as I can on foot when possible. Not to just help keep myself thinner, but my wallet fatter as well. A 6.7L Cummins HO diesel is not cheap to run. That meant I found myself on the walking path on Thomas Drive heading to an appointment yesterday afternoon and look what I found…

A berry big deal, Thomas Drive Pathway, Strathmore, AB, 2025-11-03

I’m not sure what this bush is called, but it’s red, it’s loaded with berries, and, most importantly: It still has leaves on it. I had photographed it last year, (a year ago to the day), but didn’t go out and check it this year because I assumed the crazy high winds we’ve had this past week would have stripped it bare. Apparently not.

It was too dark when I was finished work to head back and make images as I’m done at 5:00 pm and sunset is at 5:01 pm, but that’s okay. The leaves will last one more day and now I know what I’m doing over my lunch break tomorrow.

Pleasant surprises are the best surpises.

It’s a Samsung image. It’s always a Samsung image. Argh.
