A Bad Day With A Camera

Up in the Air Again

We have been the victim of sustained and relentless winds for the past month. It just seems like every day or night you head out the door while it’s light out and you get a faceful of dust from the ever present gale. It’s annoying as hell, especially since strong winds preclude using a drone. Remind me again why we moved to this shithole area? Right, employment. Definitely not enjoyment.

The wind finally abated for a evening, the sky had character, and the drone was launched. Eventually. It had been so long since I last flew it the previous year it took me a moment to remember which control was which. A couple of minutes later after experimenting with it over the park across the street with nothing nearby to hit, I launched it straight up to about 140m and got some snaps of an incoming storm at dusk.

Once again, no great art here, but it is nice to bust out a drone and get a picture with something other than my phone. That’s a win.
