There is an AA saying I have been living by for at least three decades: Easy does it, but do it. I’ve been stressing out because I don’t seem to have the energy or the hours in the day to do the things I need to do right now. So I have given myself permission to cut some corners.
I’m getting a bit of inpsiration from my daughter’s cat, Lady Hestia. Lady is getting older and likes to take it easy and just do what she has to with minimal effort. You know, that’s not a bad thing, especially when your mental health is still coming back from what is a stressful year.
I have decided to stop beating myself up if the image I get for the day is one from around the house. I still picked up a camera and I still told a story, so I feel I have lived up to the AA slogan. That, and who doesn’t need an extra nap in their fifties?
