Have you ever rolled into new place and realized that it is home to you and that where you live now just stopped feeling that way, and will never feel that way again? That’s what Salmon Arm, BC, did to me.
Salmon Arm is the place I want to be. It’s not flat. It’s not dry. It’s not redneck. And it most certainly not Alberta. Unfortunately, it’s even less affordable than Alberta, making it something of an expensive fantasy. Unless I can talk my wife into van living or something like that.
I tried to maximize my lake time during the visit, but it was problematic as we arrived in a heat wave that was covering most of Western Canada. The temperature soared up to 36C on this particular afternoon causing us to head home too early for me. There was also the expectation of visiting with my brother-in-law, and that cut down on the fun touristy stuff.
It would just be easier if I lived there, you know?
