A Bad Day With A Camera

After the Action

There may have been a good sunset this evening, but I didn’t get a chance to see it as I was stuck working a bit late, and then I had to make supper. I thought the leftover glow on the horizon might look good against the street lights so I fired my drone out the front door.

Showing up late to the party as usual, Strathmore, Alberta, 2024-02-15

A few items of interest. The road and irrigation canal at left and right are actually part of the same straight line, but, physics. The area without lights is the entirety of Gray Park and the multiple bodies of water in the wetland. This panorama was captured from my legal flight ceiling of 120m. At some point I’ll get this shot from the east side of town so there isn’t a huge dark blob in the middle of my dusk image.

I figure a sunset with a blob is better than no sunset at all, right?

Note: The above image was captured using a DJI Mini 2 drone with multiple RAW images stitched in Photoshop.
