A Bad Day With A Camera

Mailing It In

I once read that an experienced photographer should be able to shoot an interesting twenty-image fine-art portfolio on a walk to and from their mailbox. I have to wonder where that person’s mailbox was in relation to their home.

First class mail, Thornbriar Green, Strathmore, Alberta, 2024-02-05

That’s because my Canada Post “Super” Mailbox is just across the street from my house. That’s it viewed from my front stoop. It will be quite a challenge to shoot a full portfolio in that short distance even if I do take the, er, “scenic route.”

Sugar crystals of a sort, Thornbriar Green, Strathmore, Alberta, 2024-02-05

Well, that’s four images down and sixteen to go. I don’t think this is going to be an easy challenge to do. I wonder if I’m allowed to use the mailbox one block over?
